PROGRESS – From tool machine factory to engineering firm

Progress was established in 1903, and since its inception, we have worked with products related to the maritime industry. Firstly, as a manufacturer of ship-tools machines, then as gear manufacturer for use in offshore industry, and for the past 50 years, we have specialized in propulsion equipment for boats and smaller ships. Today, we represent some of the world’s leading manufacturers and can supply most components for propulsion plants, such as propulsion systems, gearboxes, water jet systems, control systems, and some other boat equipment. Progress Ingeniørfirma has 8 employees, and is located in modern and functional premises in the north of Oslo, Norway.

In the workshop we have test benches, presses, balancing equipment, measuring equipment and other things we need for workshop operation. For marine gears, waterjets etc and our other products that require technical service, we have highly qualified personnel, necessary machines and special tools. We also have test rigs where the equipment can be run to test that all functions are according to what is needed.
From the early start with Twin Disc Marine Transmissions in 1962 we are today one of the leading suppliers of components to the marine industry in Norway.
